Austria Visa General Information

The ETIAS for Austria, expected to be introduced in 2022, is an electronic travel authorization that will allow eligible citizens to travel to Austria and the Schengen Area for short stays.
Holders of an ETIAS to Austria will be able to visit Austria and the Schengen Area for purposes of tourism, business, transit, or medical treatment.
ETIAS Austria stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. The European Commission is implementing the electronic visa waiver system to pre-screen travelers to the Schengen Area and protect and strengthen European borders.
Eligible citizens will be able to apply through the simple ETIAS application for Austria, which will only take a few minutes to complete. Applicants will be required to fill in the ETIAS Austria application form with personal and passport information and travel plans, and pay an ETIAS fee to receive an approved ETIAS Visa Waiver for Austria.
The ETIAS European Visa Waiver for Austria is not a visa. It is a multiple-entry travel authorization. It will be valid for a total of 3 years and is expected to allow a maximum stay of 90 days with each entry to Austria and the Schengen Area.
